Group Description

Waste is a major challenge in most developing countries. Nakuru county in Kenya, organic waste accounts for over 60% of total waste generated. Griincom has realized this huge resource and through recycling innovations is transforming this waste to organic fertilizer, providing a solution to the challenge of soil acidity and declining soil fertility; which is a threat to food security. “It is a mazing how one challenge is a solution to the other!” However, Griincom faces the challenge of mechanization in order to maximize recycling of this huge resource (Chopper/ crusher, Electric screener, mixer & granulator) . Griincom is also seeking to establish a mini lab (Ph & Nutrients test) for quality control and to open up the innovation space in enriching the the fertilizer to better meet the farmers needs in crop production through tailor made solutions based on soil sample tests.
